So here we are, ensconced at the Akron-Canton Airport, waiting for the arrival of the United Airlines plane that will ferry us to Calgary via Chicago. What a great airport! Upon arrival we discovered no long lines, in point of fact, no lines at all! We checked in four heavy (albeit under 50 pounds each) suitcases, after being persuaded yesterday at online check-in to upgrade our status from the lowly Economy to the marginally more illustrious Economy Plus. That got us four free checked bags (purported value: $100) and five extra inches of legroom in seats in the front of the plane. Actually, the fine print on the upgrade promised "up to" five extra inches of legroom, so until we park our itinerant selves onto the cushions of the coveted Economy Plus seats, we won't know if we're being indulged with the whole five inches or a mere fraction of a centimeter. No matter, I still feel special.
